Consuelo - Aoudad

CONSUELO RANCH

The Consuelo Hunting Ranches are located just south of Ozona and Sonora Texas in Val Verde county and are known for big Trophy Aoudad just as Presidio county is.

Required:

• Long Range Rifle System capable of shooting <1 MOA and with data out to 1300 yards

• 80 Rounds of Ammunition

• Personal Hearing Protection

• Laser Range Finder

• Bipods, Tripod or Shooting Sticks

• Rifle Sling

• Rear Shooting Bag

• Wind Reading Device (Anemometer)

• Hunting Pack

• Knife

• Texas Hunting License (5 Day Exotic Special with Start Date the first day of your hunt)

• Smartphone

• Clothes suitable for hunting in any weather

• Hygiene Materials

• Sunscreen

• Binoculars

• Note Taking Equipment

• Cooler (you will be responsible for meat transport)
  

Flights:

If you're flying, we recommend flying into San Angelo or San Antonio. It's several hours of driving from each of these airports to the ranch, so you'll want to plan to rent a car at the airport. 

Plan to meet at the Mayfield store at 7:00pm On October 9th, 2020

Directions:

From Ozona you will take Highway 163 south toward Comstock.  There is an intersection where Highway 189 runs into/merges with 163 and there is a Historical marker here. From this intersection you will need to travel another 6 miles south and on the right hand side/west side of the road there will be an old shut down store (Mayfield Store). There are a bunch of mileages to cities on the front of it for reference. This will be the meeting location.

You can also get here from Sonora by going south on 277 toward Del Rio then taking the Juno exit which is Highway 189 and follow it until it hits 163 and follow directions from there. From Comstock you will go north on 163 until you reach the meeting location which is about 35 minutes from town.

When you leave Sonora, Ozona, or Comstock make sure you have a full tank of gas and any supplies. There is nothing in between and you will need to travel back if you forget anything.

From Ozona to Mayfield Store- 45 minutes

From Sonora to Mayfield Store- 1 hour

From Comstock to Mayfield Store- 35 minutes

Car Rentals:

Please make car rental plans with your flight arrangements. Gunwerks does not offer transportation to and from the facility for the course. 

All applicants for our training courses must be US citizens not legally barred from possessing firearms. For non-US citizens interested in a training course, please call us directly (307) 296-7300.

All event attendees must complete our liability and media waiver.

Booking Requirements:

To secure an event date, a 50% deposit payment is required. Final payment is due 120 days prior to the earliest event date.

Student Cancellation:

If you cancel a hunting event (other than an African hunt) more than one hundred twenty (120) days from the start of the hunt, your deposit can be moved to another class (not refundable). If cancelled less than one hundred twenty (120) days from the start of the hunt, the deposit is forfeited.

Gunwerks reserves the right to change or amend these policies at any time.

Gunwerks Class Cancellation:

In rare circumstances, Gunwerks may need to cancel a class. If this occurs, you will be notified as soon as possible and given the option of either a full refund or a move to another course of the same value.
